Osborne Clarke’s Management Advisory Group provided legal advice to the senior management team of Sterling Pharma Solutions, who reinvested in the business. The team was led by Mike Freer, a private equity partner and head of the Management Advisory Group at Osborne Clarke. The team also included Leanne Wright, Demi Joannides, and Aisling Farley, with Caroline Hynes providing employment advice.
Sterling Pharma Solutions, in partnership with GHO, has experienced significant growth since 2019, with tripled revenues and quadrupled earnings. The company has become a preferred partner for leading pharmaceutical companies in the development of complex medicines and scaling up manufacturing.
Partners Group, a wealth of healthcare expertise, has acquired a significant minority stake in Sterling Pharma Solutions. GHO will remain the majority shareholder, and the new investment is supported by a consortium of investors led by funds managed by AlpInvest Partners and Pantheon.
The investment will support Sterling Pharma Solutions in accelerating its growth plans, expanding production capacity in the UK, Europe, and the US. This expansion aims to meet the increasing demand from new and existing customers and support all stages of development, from clinical to commercial. The funding will also enable Sterling to pursue strategic acquisitions, further enhance capabilities and geographic reach, and continue its commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.
