Through an agreement with Maven Clinic, Amazon will give reproductive care to more than 1 million workers

Maven Clinic

Amazon has partnered with Maven Clinic to provide fertility and family planning services to its employees, expanding the healthcare offering to more than 1 million eligible Amazon employees across 50 countries outside of the U.S. and Canada. Maven Clinic, known for making reproductive healthcare more accessible, will offer a range of services, including access to reproductive endocrinologists, OB-GYNs, nutritionists, and mental healthcare providers. Amazon’s partnership with Maven adds approximately 7% to Maven’s patient care, totaling over 15 million patients as of May 2023.

The move aligns with the growing corporate interest in improving reproductive healthcare benefits, especially in the wake of challenges faced in the U.S., such as the high maternal mortality rate and the overturning of Roe v. Wade. The partnership showcases Amazon’s commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services for its diverse workforce.

Femtech, a rising industry focused on women’s health technology, has garnered attention recently. Amazon joins other major companies like Microsoft, AT&T, and L’Oreal that have partnered with Maven Clinic to address the growing need for fertility and family planning benefits. The expansion of such benefits reflects the evolving landscape of workplace inclusivity and employee loyalty, with fertility benefits playing a role in enhancing commitment and job satisfaction.

By offering fertility and family planning services through Maven Clinic, Amazon aims to create a more equitable workplace and cater to the diverse needs of its employees, recognizing the significance of such benefits for both heterosexual and same-sex couples. The partnership not only addresses employees’ personal needs but also reinforces Amazon’s commitment to their well-being, as noted by Lian Neeman, Amazon’s director of global benefits. This move underscores the company’s effort to provide a holistic approach to employee welfare and promote loyalty through comprehensive healthcare services.
