Till the last week, the US witnessed the fastest spread of monkeypox infections than any other country, as per the data from the World Health Organization (WHO)

The recent data from the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed the rapid spread of monkeypox infections in all the US states.

As of Monday, the total number of monkeypox cases reported is 15,433 according to the CDC data.

The CDC data reported that New York topped with most cases, with 2,910, followed by California with 2,663, and Florida numbering 1,588 respectively.

The US Government faced rising criticism for its response to the monkeypox outburst, with failure in the procurement of vaccines, quick treatments, and making tests available to tackle the breakout.

Currently, the US has the world’s highest number of monkeypox cases.

Monkeypox has been declared by the US government as a public health emergency in early August after a week the WHO confirmed the outbreak as a worldwide health emergency.
