The largest integrated provincial health care system in Canada, Alberta Health Services (AHS), completed its major launch of Connect Care to date and also included more than 23,000 staff and physicians to the regional clinical information system.
In this connect care system, fifty-seven sites in the Edmonton and Calgary areas, including the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton, Royal Alexandra Hospital and the Alberta Children’s Hospital and Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, have been added.
The launch of connect care is beneficial in many ways, as it can replace all paper charting, medication records, lab requisitions and results, and patient medical histories. It will also enable health care providers a crucial access point to patient information, common clinical standards, and top health care practices.
