WHO & UKs Health-Climate Alliance Aiding Countries Turn Commitments into Action

A new health and climate change platform is launched by The World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Kingdom government.

The platform is launched to support countries’ efforts to implement commitments they made at last year’s UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) to achieve resilient and low carbon, sustainable health systems. The primary objective of the association is to drive and sustain progress and ambition on resilient and low carbon health practices.

Dr Maria Neira, WHO Director, Department of Environment, Climate Change and Health, said that this new association is intended to sustain the momentum and advance action on climate change and health at the country level, to aid countries bridge the gap between commitments and implementation as a first priority.
